LSU vs. BYU: Pregame observations from the Superdome

NEW ORLEANS — LSU opens its season against BYU at 8:30 p.m. CT from the Mercedes-Benz Superdome at the relocated Advocare Texas Kickoff.

To help you get ready for the game — not that LSU fans need any extra help pre-gaming — SEC Country is providing pregame observations from the Superdome until kickoff. You can click here to see score predictions, and click here for information for how to watch on TV and online.

  • Much of the pregame speculation will focus on who is not with the Tigers due to rumored suspensions. Quarterback Justin McMillan — fourth on the team’s depth chart — is among those not warming up.
  • Outside linebacker Andre Anthony is on crutches and not available to play. With Arden Key already out, LSU will have only freshman K’Lavon Chaisson and redshirt freshman Ray Thornton available at the position.
  • Starting inside linebacker Donnie Alexander and starting cornerback Kevin Toliver are also not present. Freshman Tyler Taylor is next on the depth chart at Alexander’s position, and freshman Andraez “Greedy” Williams is listed behind Toliver.
  • Wide receiver Dee Anderson is at the Superdome, but not with the team. Anderson was spotted in the stands.
