LOOK: The Rock takes on fresh new look as Tennessee vs. Georgia Tech looms

The Rock has taken on several memorable looks through the years, 51 years to be exact, as it builds a legacy as an unofficial campus message board.

The megaton chunk of Knox dolomite, unearthed in 1966 as the University of Tennessee was expanding its campus, is among one of many unique traditions in the SEC. It’s served as a place to advertise events, give shoutouts to family or friends, speak out about political issues, etc.

It’s also been a place to celebrate big football wins, which is something Vols fans are hoping they can do after their game against Georgia Tech on Monday night.

On Monday afternoon, a Twitter user gave us a glimpse at The Rock’s new painting that features Smokey and a yellow jacket.

No. 25 Tennessee and Georgia Tech will kick off at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN.
