It was a brutal way for Mississippi State quarterback Nick Fitzgerald’s season to come to an end as he suffered a dislocated ankle in the Bulldogs regular season finale against Ole Miss.

Just four days after having surgery to fix the injury, Fitzgerald was photographed smiling as he boarded a plane to fly to Jackson, Miss. to accept the Conerly Trophy, given annually to the top college football player in the state of Mississippi.

It is nice to see Fitzgerald up, albeit on crutches, and in good spirits.
