If you want to take the temperature of Tennessee’s campus, just check out the latest message on the campus’ famed rock.
On Friday, WVLT’s Kelsey Leyrer used Twitter to publish a photo of a painting on the rock that read, in orange paint, “WELCOME TO THE TENNESSEE BROWNS!!”
It doesn’t take a big history lesson to understand that the message is a reference to Browns owner Jimmy Haslam and the rest of the Haslam family, which has had great influence in the Vols’ wild coaching search to this point. You can also take the reference further and suggest current Vols operations as it relates to the school’s coaching search reflect those of the bungling Browns, but that’s your choice.

Wild times in Knoxville, indeed. It’s sad, too. How much more of this craziness can Vols fans take?
