LOOK: Karl-Anthony Towns backs up Players Tribune piece, wears anti-racism symbols on shoes during Kentucky alumni game

Earlier Friday, former Kentucky star Karl-Anthony Towns wrote a strongly worded article on The Players’ Tribune rebuking Donald Trump, calling out white supremacy, and denouncing racism in America. On Friday night, Towns took the court for Kentucky’s alumni game sporting a similar message on his shoes:

While Towns has always been seen as one of the more intelligent and admirable athletes in the country, Friday was one of the first times he’d voiced his political opinions on a public platform, first on The Players’ Tribune, and then on the hardwood. While Towns is certainly not the first athlete of his stature to say something like that, he adds to a growing list of athletes vocally frustrated with the state of race relations in America at the moment.
