LOOK: Internet digs up old photos of Alex Rodriguez in Notre Dame gear

Alex Rodriguez-Miami-Miami turnover chain

Alex Rodriguez was back home on Saturday as a guest picker at ESPN’s College GameDay from Coral Gables in advance of tonight’s major Miami-Notre Dame showdown.

The former MLB star, who played high school baseball in South Florida, naturally went with the Hurricanes to the delight of those in attendance.

Decked out in his own personal turnover chain, Rodriguez was the big man on campus in the first-ever GameDay appearance from the University of Miami.

However, as A-Rod is learning, the Internet never forgets.

(Cue the 30 for 30 music)

What if I told you, A-Rod once rooted for The U’s arch rival?

Yup, this actually happened. Rodriguez was decked out in Irish garb at the Notre Dame-Michigan matchup in 2014.

And Twitter is having a field day reminding the former slugger about it.

Rodriguez spent 22 seasons in the MLB and hit 696 career home runs — good for fourth-most all time.

Miami hasn’t defeated Notre Dame since a 27-10 victory in 1989. Miami lost at Notre Dame 30-27 last season.

Notre Dame leads the all-time series 18-7-1, with the games in Miami tied at 6-6-1.
