The tributes keep coming for Verne Lundquist.
On Saturday, Georgia’s band became the latest to offer a hat tip to the CBS Sports announcer. The group spelled out “YES SIR!” before the Bulldogs hosted Tennessee on Saturday. The saying is in reference to Lundquist’s call during the 1986 Masters. The Georgia-Tennessee game was broadcast on CBS.

Lundquist will be missed after this season. He’ll retire from “SEC on CBS” broadcasts, but he’ll continue to be behind the microphone for golf and college basketball events for CBS. Brad Nessler will become a fixture on “SEC on CBS” broadcasts after Lundquist steps away.
