ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Even Las Vegas took notice of the news coming out of the Florida football program on Sunday, and how it affects Michigan’s season opener vs. the Gators.
Within an hour of Florida’s announcement that the Gators suspended seven players for its season opener against Michigan at 3:30 p.m. ET on Sept. 2 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, the Wolverines went from being a favorite to a heavier favorite.
At 5:05 p.m. ET, VegasInsider.com listed Michigan as a 2 1/2-point favorite against Florida. Less than 40 minutes later, Michigan was listed as and remains a 3 1/2-point favorite.
Entering Sunday, the Westgate Superbook listed Michigan as a 2 1/2-point favorite against Florida. By 5:03 p.m., the Westgate Superbook favored the Wolverines by as many as 4 1/2 points, and currently lists the Wolverines as a 4-point favorite against the Gators.
