Lane Kiffin weighs in on Tennessee’s situation by retweeting user’s pick for next Vols coach

Former Tennessee coach Lane Kiffin has weighed in on the Vols’ situation. Kind of.

A crazy Sunday for Vols fans saw  negotiations killed between Tennessee officials and Ohio State defensive coordinator Greg Schiano after reports surfaced that Schiano would become the Vols’ next coach and a massive uproar followed. The reaction was stunning in so many ways. Talk and fallout from the situation likely will continue in the days and weeks to come.

And yes, Kiffin added his name to the noise.

Late Sunday, he retweeted someone’s thought that Tennessee should hire former Vols offensive coordinator and current Duke coach David Cutcliffe. This user also suggested that Tennessee should bring in John Chavis as defensive coordinator and former Vols quarterback Tee Martin as the offensive coordinator.

It’s unclear if Kiffin, who coached Tennessee during the 2009 season, is endorsing those picks. (After all, it’s possible to retweet something and not completely agree with the thought.) But knowing Kiffin’s Twitter prowess, it’s likely that he did this on a whim.
