In the midst of what has been a bizarre and to this point fruitless coaching search, Tennessee fired athletic director John Currie on Friday morning.
Now the Volunteers need a new head coach and a new AD, but don’t fret Vols fans, Lane Kiffin is here to help.
While his own name has come up and been shot down as a potential candidate in Knoxville, Kiffin saw the news of Currie’s dismissal Friday morning and quickly offered up his suggestion as to what and who should come next in the Tennessee program.
John Currie reportedly out as Tennessee athletic director. If true hire paul asap as the AD!!!!! Real orange blood. Then he will hire Tee Martin #volsrback #rockytop @finebaum @coachtee17 @espn https://t.co/Ku2gZYVvvH

That’s right. Kiffin wants Tennessee alum and current SEC Network host Paul Finebaum to take over the operation in Knoxville as well as bring back Tee Martin to coach the Volunteers.
And Kiffin subtly works in some jabs at Tennessee as well, saying that Finebaum has “real orange blood,” perhaps unlike those who are or were recently there. And the #volsrback makes fun of where Tennessee currently is (not back) and that Finebaum and Martin are the only ones who can bring Tennessee back.
Never change Lane, never change.
