Lane Kiffin responds to Nick Saban contradiction for playoff: ‘Can you rat poison yourself?’

Nick Saban believes Alabama’s stumble in the Iron Bowl shouldn’t shut the door on the team’s chances of reaching the College Football Playoff, but Lane Kiffin poked fun at that take.

That’s because last season saw Saban argue that one of the criteria for making the four-team field should be winning your conference championship, which is obviously something Alabama couldn’t do after losing to Auburn.

One person on Twitter pointed out the conflicting statements from Saban, and Kiffin responded with, what else, a rat poison joke.

The Crimson Tide find themselves in a precarious position to reach the College Football Playoff after their 26-14 loss to the Tigers.

The penultimate rankings will be released on Tuesday night, but several conference championship games will have a major impact on who makes it in.
