As you may or may not have noticed, Lane Kiffin has added a new number of transfers in his short time at FAU.
After bringing DeAndre Johnson and Tim Bonner, who came from East Mississippi Community College, he’s added John Franklin III, who left Auburn this week, and former West Virginia wide receiver Jovon Durante announced on Saturday that he was transferring to the school.
Kiffin drew some heat for accepting all the transfers, especially those with questionable backgrounds. But Kiffin owned that, and has a different name for Florida Atlantic. He’s not calling it Second Chance U or the FBS version of Last Chance U.
Per Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press, Florida Atlantic is Last Strike U.
Lane Kiffin says FAU isn't Second Chance U — it's LSU. "Last Strike U," Kiffin said.

Kiffin can certainly identify with the term Last Strike U. He’s had highly controversial departures from Tennessee, Oakland, USC and Alabama. And if things don’t go well at Florida Atlantic this could very well be his last chance at being a head coach. It’s also a bit funny that he’s calling it LSU, because it’s known that Ed Orgeron very much wanted him to be the offensive coordinator at LSU. That role was ultimately filled by Matt Canada.
Kiffin and Florida Atlantic open the season on Sept. 1 when they take on Navy.
