Kirk Herbstreit is not fond of the Tennessee fan base conducted itself today.
And he thinks that the fans may have done real harm to the job. He asked, rightfully, on Twitter what coach would take this job if they had any other options.
After today?? Gonna be even more challenging. Can’t imagine anyone wanting this job if they have other options. https://t.co/d1KNF1lHqU

Tennessee has reportedly backed out of a deal with Greg Schiano after the fan base’s toxic reaction to the news. While many fans cited him being named as someone who had knowledge of the Jerry Sandusky incidents at Penn State, those appear to be reaches and it was never actually proven as Schiano never had to speak under oath about it . Yahoo’s Dan Wetzel laid out the entire story on the Sandusky incident in a very clear manner.
Tennessee still does not have a coach, while Florida and now Ole Miss have hired full-time coaches. Texas A&M parted ways with Kevin Sumlin on Sunday and Arkansas did the same with Bret Bielema on Friday.
Needless to say things do not look very good for Tennessee.
