Ohio State is destroying Michigan State in a huge game for first place in the Big Ten East.

ESPN analyst and former Buckeyes quarterback Kirk Herbstreit is impressed by Ohio State. Last week, the Buckeyes lost by 31 points at Iowa. But this week, Ohio State is rolling against Michigan State, up 35-3 at the half.

“Wowwwww!!” Herbstreit tweeted. “[Ohio State] looks like they took last weeks loss personally!! Coming out SWINGIN today on Sparty! Up 35-0 2nd Qtr!!!”

Ohio State-Michigan State: Kirk Herbstreit reacts to rout

What started as a No. 12 Michigan State-No. 13 Ohio State showdown quickly turned into a Buckeyes rout.

Just about everything went right for the Buckeyes — and wrong for the Spartans. After throwing for 400 yards in each of the last two games, Michigan State quarterback Brian Lewerke has looked lost against Ohio State. Lewerke was 8-for-22 passing for 49 yards and an interception. The rushing game wasn’t much better, as the Spartans had 55 rushing yards on 19 attempts.

The Buckeyes offense also dominated what has been a strong Spartans defense. Mike Weber needed only 8 carries to get to 161 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns.

Ohio State had 253 rushing yards and 4 scores in the first half. Buckeyes quarterback J.T. Barrett was intercepted, but he still has 67 passing yards, 42 rushing yards and 3 total touchdowns.
