There’s something unique about Kentucky’s Week 2 matchup with nearby Eastern Kentucky, and it has nothing to do with the Colonels being an FCS program.
Backup Wildcats QB Drew Barker will take the field opposite his current roommate, EKU receiver Cameron Fogle.
“There’s been a lot of friendly trash talk,” Fogle, a former walk-on at UK, told the Lexington Herald-Leader. “I hang out with a bunch of people that don’t play football that still go to Kentucky. They always say, ‘When you guys play against each other, that’s going to be so cool. Kentucky’s probably going to like kill you guys or whatever.’”
And while Barker and Fogle, both offensive players, won’t actually face each other, it will still be a weird experience for the two roommates.
“We talk about this all the time,” Barker told the Lexington Herald-Leader. “It will be fun to go and play against him again. To see him on the other sideline will be cool for sure.”
