Xavier Peters’ commitment to Kentucky has been in question ever since the 4-star linebacker deleted his commitment tweet soon after it was posted. He then followed up with this message.

But Peters told Scout.com’s Bill Greene that he is still committed to the Wildcats. Peters, from West Chester, Ohio, said proximity played a big part in his decision. He didn’t want his mom and grandparents to be too far away.

Although he remains committed, Peters said he plans to visit USC, Texas, Oregon, Penn State and Tennessee.

Peters committed to Kentucky on July 4. He’s a top-300 prospect and the No. 19 outside linebacker in the nation, according to 247Sports.

Peters is one of two UK commitments from Lakota West High School in West Chester. Defensive tackle Tyler Bentley, who committed to the Cats on June 11, is a high school teammate of Peters. It’s the same school that produced current Wildcats George Asafo-Adjei, Kyle Meadows and Kayaune Ross.
