Kentucky received three votes in the preseason AP Top 25 poll released Monday afternoon.
The Wildcats finished 7-6 in 2016, but Mark Stoops’ squad failed to crack the top 25 at any point.
Kentucky’s three preseason votes put the Wildcats in a tie for 41st in the AP poll. Texas A&M also had three votes. Michigan State had one vote to round out the teams who received at least a single vote.
Alabama is the No. 1 team in the country, but Kentucky will avoid the Crimson Tide in conference play.
The Wildcats will play No. 15 Georgia, No. 16 Louisville, No. 17 Florida and No. 25 Tennessee. The SEC had six teams ranked in the AP Top 25.
Kentucky opens the season Sept. 2 at Southern Miss.
