LEXINGTON, Ky. — Kentucky basketball coach John Calipari said Thursday he still doesn’t know whether 5-star freshman forward Jarred Vanderbilt will play this season for the Wildcats.
Vanderbilt, who has been coming out and doing light shooting with the team before games at Rupp Arena, is still limited to individual work and has not practiced, Calipari said. Early in November, the coach said he hoped Vanderbilt would be back working with the rest of the team by the end of this month.
Calipari said the decision about Vanderbilt playing this season “is his,” and if the 6-foot-9 McDonald’s All-American thinks it is best to try to play, he will. This story will be updated with Calipari’s full thoughts on Vanderbilt.
