It’s hard not to have an opinion about Jim Harbaugh. The eccentric Michigan head coach with an unparalleled personality has been making headlines since his return to the college scene.
Apparently, some peers think Harbaugh has not deserved all the attention he receives. CBS Sports anonymously polled a selection of FBS head coaches about who they thought was the most overrated coach in college football. Harbaugh got more votes than any other coach.
According to the poll — which featured 1/5th (26) head coaches — Harbaugh was named the most overrated coach by 13 percent of voters. Nick Saban, Lane Kiffin and Lovie Smith all got nine percent of the vote and 48 percent of the voters chose not to answer.
Harbaugh is 20-6 in his first two seasons at Michigan, but some of the responses could very well have to do with his off-field persona.
The poll also asked voters to pick the most underrated coach. Kansas State’s Bill Snyder was the No. 1 choice with 24 percent of the vote.
