Jim Harbaugh, Michigan kicker Quinn Nordin get in argument after missed field goal

Most things went right for Michigan in the first half of Saturday’s game at Maryland. One of the only errors was a missed field goal late in the half.

Freshman Quinn Nordin pushed a 31-yard attempt wide of the goal post. It was Nordin’s third missed field goal in a row, and he is now 14-for-19 on the season.

Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh wasn’t happy after the missed kick, even with the Wolverines ahead 28-0. He and Nordin exchanged some heated words about the play on the sideline.

It was not clear what the two were arguing about, but both sides were clearly frustrated.

Nordin looked great early in the season for the Wolverines, as he went 4-for-6 in the season opener against Florida and hit a pair of field goals from longer than 49 yards. But he’s been shakier in recent weeks. In addition to the 3 missed field goals, Nordin has missed 2 extra points in Michigan’s last 4 games.
