Jarrett Stidham and the Auburn offense looked rusty Saturday night

Welcome to The Podcast on the Plains, SEC Country’s daily Auburn Tigers podcast with host Zac Blackerby. In this edition, Blackerby breaks down what happened in Auburn’s season-opening 41-7 win over Georgia Southern on Saturday night.

With many fans disappointed in quarterback Jarrett Stidham’s debut performance, many are expecting Auburn to have to rely on its defense to win big games. With 3 turnovers in the first half, Auburn’s offense showed signs of not executing to new offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey’s standard, but it also showed that there are simple ways to get better before traveling to take on defending national champion Clemson this Saturday.

Blackerby talks about the offensive line and what needs to improve. He also calls out the wide receivers.

Blackerby spent a lot of time in the podcast praising what the defense did Saturday night. Regardless of who a team plays, if the defense limits the opponent to less than 100 yards of offense, it was a dominating night.

Hear Blackerby’s thoughts and audio from the postgame festivities on this edition of the podcast.
