Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell has already made $550,000 in bonuses

Iowa State football head coach Matt Campbell was named the Big 12 Coach of the Year on Thursday after taking the Cyclones from 3 wins to 7 wins in the span of the year.

He’s also made some serious cash in the process.

According to USA TODAY’s Steve Berkowitz, the award on Thursday earned Campbell a $50,000 bonus — bringing his bonus total to $550,000 in just two seasons since being named head coach.

Campbell has posted a 10-14 record since taking over the reins of the Cyclones in 2016. He now has the team headed to a bowl game for the first time since 2012. Iowa State will learn its bowl game destination early next week.
