Iowa basketball officially signs four-star guard Joe Wieskamp

A big part of Iowa’s future officially became a Hawkeyes signee on Wednesday afternoon, as four-star shooting guard Joe Wieskamp honored his verbal commitment and signed with the program.

Wieskamp first announced his intention sign with the Hawkeyes back in 2015.

“It’s cool, but for me, it really is just another day,” Wieskamp told the Voice of Muscatine. “I have been committed for so long, I am just glad the day is finally here.”

Wieskamp, a 6-foot-4, 170-pound guard was given a four-star composite rating by 247sports.com ,which ranks him the No. 53 overall recruit in the country and the ninth best shooting guard in the class of 2018.

He is a multi-dimensional scorer, with the ability to both finish around the rim and space the floor with his long-range shot.
