Internet reacts to Mississippi State hiring Joe Moorhead as head coach

Mississippi State did not wait long before finding its replacement for the recently departed Dan Mullen, as Penn State offensive coordinator Joe Moorhead reportedly accepted the Bulldogs’ offer on Tuesday night.

For the past two seasons, Moorhead has served as offensive coordinator at Penn State, calling plays for the Nittany Lions’ offense — often one of the most powerful units in the country. Last year, Moorhead helped lead Penn State to its first uncontested Big Ten title in 25 years.

Though Moorhead is not the ultimate splash hire that some other schools have signed, he is quite well-regarded, and this is not his first opportunity as a head coach. From 2012 to 2015, he was the head coach of Fordham.
