Indiana to wear ‘Hep’s Rock’ alternate uniforms vs. Georgia Southern on Sept. 23

Indiana football will wear new alternate uniforms for the Hoosiers’ Sept. 23 game against Georgia Southern. The uniforms were made by adidas.

The uniforms are called “Hep’s Rock,” in honor of the 10-year anniversary of the passing of coach Terry Hoeppner. The coach installed a limestone boulder found on the practice field moved to Memorial Stadium, calling it “The Rock.” Players touch the rock before they run onto the field for home games.

As written in adidas’ official release, the uniforms feature a limestone graphic on the numbers and pants.

Hoeppner died from brain cancer in June 2007. After going 48-25 in six seasons as Miami (Ohio)’s head coach, Hoeppner took over for the Hoosiers. He went a combined 9-14 in two seasons (2005, 2006).
