Nick Westbrook has a torn ACL and will not play again in 2017, Hoosiers coach Tom Allen told reporters Monday. Westbrook hurt his knee on the opening kickoff in Thursday’s 49-21 loss to Ohio State.

Westbrook had 54 catches for 995 yards and six touchdowns in 2016, his sophomore season. The 6-foot-3, 215-pound wide receiver was an honorable mention All-Big Ten selection.
This is a tough blow for the Hoosiers, who threw for 420 yards on 68 passing attempts in the loss to the Buckeyes. Indiana is expecting a big season from Simmie Cobbs Jr., who had 11 catches for 149 yards and a touchdown against Ohio State. Junior Luke Timian also had 10 grabs for 72 yards in the season opener.
