Watson, who is scheduled to graduate in about two weeks, appears to be the biggest loss for the Fighting Illini. Despite missing 3 games in October, the redshirt junior made 65 tackles in 9 contests. He plans to enroll in another school next January and play football immediately as a graduate transfer.
Megginson had a promising redshirt freshman campaign last year. Coming in as the state’s No. 2 recruit in the Class of 2015, he made six starts at guard and one at tackle in 2016. However, Illinois buried him on the depth chart this season while starting his younger counterparts on the line.
