All 12 of Arkansas’ 2018 commits were in action this week. Some had big statistical performances and others made crucial plays to help lift their team to victory.
Throughout the 2017 season, SEC Country will provide weekly updates on the performances of as many Arkansas commits as possible.
Here’s how they fared this week:
How the Arkansas commits fared (Aug. 29-Sept. 2)
Connor Noland, 4-star QB: 20/30, 218 yards, 2 TD
Noland got the offense rolling early for Greenwood (Ark.) with a pair of first-half touchdown passes. He was able to check out of the game for good midway through the fourth quarter in a 34-7 victory.
Bumper Pool, 4-star LB: 17 tackles
Pool had an outstanding night for Lovejoy (Lucas, Texas) despite his team suffering a 42-21 loss to Argyle, the No. 4 team in Texas’ Class 4A.
Byron Hanspard II, 4-star CB: 1 carry, 54 rushing yards, TD, 3 catches, 43 yards, INT
Hanspard, who plays receiver and cornerback, scored on a 54-yard run the first play of the second half. He also had a fourth-quarter interception that helped DeSoto (Texas) hang on to beat Dallas Jesuit 41-36 Friday night.
Sean Michael Flanagan, 3-star ATH: 33 rushing yards, 44 receiving yards
Flanagan hauled in a crucial 22-yard catch over double coverage to set up the game-winning touchdown for Charleston (Ark.) in a 29-23 win on Tuesday night.

Maureese Wren, 3-star ATH: 6 catches, 143 yards, 3 TD
Wren is committed to play outside linebacker, but he shines at wide receiver for Mesquite-Horn (Mesquite, Texas). Half of his catches went for scores as the Mesquite-Horn offense put up 52 points in a victory.
Isaiah Nichols, 3-star DE: 8 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1 sack
Primarily playing defensive tackle Friday night, Nichols was a force in the middle of Springdale’s defense. He regularly demanded double teams from the Conway (Ark.) offensive line as Springdale edged out a 19-17 win.
Jeremy Gibson, 3-star RB: 9 carries, 70 yards, TD
Gibson and Riverside Academy (Reserve, La.) made quick work of Southern Lab (Baton Rouge, La.) in what was supposed to be highly competitive game. Gibson wasn’t even needed in the second half of a 54-0 victory.
