Auburn’s coaches, players, and fans will likely have to hold their breaths all the way up until kickoff before knowing whether or not star running back Kerryon Johnson will play in Saturday’s SEC Championship Game against Georgia.
Johnson practiced on Thursday but was limited, and at the SEC coaches press conference on Friday afternoon, Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn provided a new update on his running back’s playing status.
Gus Malzahn said Kerryon Johnson will be a game-time decision. Expects him to go through warm-ups.

Johnson has been fighting to come back from a shoulder injury sustained in the Iron Bowl, and Malzahn has said all week that he will be evaluated day-to-day.
Johnson had a huge game in the first matchup against the Bulldogs, and the Tigers offense will have a significant void to fill if he is unable to play or is put on any kind of play count.
Kickoff Saturday is at 4 p.m. ET from Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
