Greg McElroy makes bold pick for SEC Championship Game between Auburn, Georgia

Greg McElroy delivered his pick for the SEC Championship Game.

On Tuesday, SEC Network’s Twitter account published a clip from Thinking Out Loud with McElroy and Marcus Spears in which the former Alabama quarterback gave a thoughtful prediction for the matchup between Auburn and Georgia on Saturday at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

His choice? McElroy expects the Tigers to beat the Bulldogs for the second time this season and advance to the College Football Playoff.

“I still like Auburn a little bit, because of how good that defensive line is,” the analyst said. “But I expect it to be a much-closer affair than what we saw on the Plains a few weeks ago.”

It wouldn’t be too surprising to see Auburn beat Georgia once more. After all, the Tigers completely dominated the first meeting between the programs on Nov. 11, when Auburn won 40-17 at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Yes, the rematch should be closer. But it’s hard to bet against a hot Auburn team right now.
