ATHENS — Georgia receiver Michael Chigbu is considering giving up football, according to head coach Kirby Smart.
Chigbu, who has one year of eligibility remaining, has not been at the past few spring practices.
“He’s going some injury things,” Smart said after Thursday’s practice.”He may be thinking about hanging it up, but he hasn’t decided yet.”
Chigbu has 13 career catches, four as a freshman and nine as a sophomore, then none last year. He still saw the field a lot, especially in situations where he was used to help with run blocking.
A native of New Orleans, Chigbu arrived at Georgia as a three-star prospect.
