Few could’ve predicted this at the beginning of the season,
but when Georgia and Kentucky meet on Nov. 3, it could be for the SEC East championship. And the game, which will be played
in Lexington, Ky., now has a kickoff time and television network.
The game will kick at either Noon, 3:30 p.m. or 4 p.m. and air on either ESPN (at Noon), CBS (at 3:30) or SEC Network (at
4 p.m.). The game can also be heard on the radio at WSB 95.5 FM or AM 750. The final decision on the game time will be announced
Entering this week, Georgia and Kentucky are both 6-1 and 4-1 in SEC play. Georgia has a tough matchup this week, as the
No. 7 Bulldogs take on the No. 9 Florida Gators in Jacksonville on Saturday. Earlier this season, Kentucky did beat Florida
at Florida, but the Gators have won every game since, including a 27-19 win over LSU. Florida is also 6-1, and 4-1 in the
Georgia has not lost against Kentucky since 2009, as the Bulldogs have won the last eight games in the series. When these
two teams last met in Lexington in 2016, Georgia needed a last-second field goal from Rodrigo Blankenship to beat the Wildcats,
as Georgia pulled out a 27-24 win.
Kentucky is led by running back Benny Snell, who leads the SEC in rushing with 868 rushing yards. Snell has also scored
nine touchdowns this year and only three running backs have more rushing yards in the country than Snell. Georgia’s
run defense is coming off its worst game of the season, as the Bulldogs gave up 275 yards to LSU.
The Georgia-Florida game set for this weekend will kickoff at 3:30 p.m. ET and will air on CBS. The Wildcats’ game
against Missouri this week kicks at 4 p.m. and will air on the SEC Network.
