Auburn-Dameon Pierce-Florida-Florida recruiting-Gators

Welcome to the second installment of our “Future Gators” series, which will look at the top performers each week from Florida’s commitment list.

Here are the standouts from Week 2:

Dameon Pierce, 4-star RB, Bainbridge (Bainbridge, Ga.)

Stat line: 27 carries for 312 yards and 5 touchdowns in a 43-33 win over Lincoln (Tallahassee, Fla.)
Next game: Friday at Cairo (Cairo, Ga.)
Note: After rushing for 174 yards in a season-opening loss, Pierce took his game to another level Friday to led Bainbridge to its first win of 2017. He had several impressive runs, including a long of 69, and even gave a couple Gator Chomps celebrations. Check out his highlights below.

Ja’Marr Chase, 4-star WR, Archbishop Rummel (Metairie, La.)

Ja'Marr Chase
Ja’Marr Chase is the nation’s No. 12 WR and No. 69 overall prospect. (Sam Speigelman/SEC Country)

Stat line: 6 receptions for 136 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 31-o win over Gulfport (Gulfport, Miss.).
Next game: Friday at Escambia (Pensacola, Fla.)
Quotable: “Chase muffed a punt (early) but the defense got the Raiders going in the right direction. Senior Caleb Powell had the first of three Rummel interceptions and Fields found Chase for a 79-yard touchdown on the very next play. Rummel proceeded to put up touchdowns on its first two drives to take a 21-0 lead into halftime and coasted the rest of the way for the win. … Chase had a couple of highlight reel plays in the process.” — Josh Preston of NOLA.com

Matt Corral, 4-star QB, Long Beach Poly (Long Beach, Calif.)

Matt Corral is the nation’s No. 3 pro-style QB and No. 32 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite rankings. (Chris Kirschner/SEC Country).

Stat line: 20 of 34 for 213 yards with 2 touchdowns and 1 interception in 14-10 win over Narbonne (Harbor City, Calif.)
Next game: Friday vs. Mission Viejo (Mission Viejo, Calif.)
Quotable: “(Corral) completed six of his 10 first-half passes for just 59 yards and no scores against a tough Narbonne secondary Friday night. The reason why Corral is set to head to a power program in the Southeastern Conference was clearer after halftime, as the senior signal caller displayed poise, leadership and big play capabilities.” — Devin Ugland of the LA Times
