Two days after freshman cornerback Shaun Wade lost his black stripe, and offensive tackle Thayer Munford lost his, safety Brendon White became the ninth Ohio State newcomer to be welcomed into the program on Saturday.

Losing your black stripe is an honor under Buckeye head coach Urban Meyer. Once Meyer and his program feels as though a freshman has truly earned his way onto the team, that player’s black stripe is removed.

White is ranked as a 4-star recruit by 247Sports’ composite rankings and is the No. 3 athlete in the country, while being touted as the No. 2 overall player from the state of Ohio.

Ohio State had nine members of its 2017 recruiting class enroll early, but that doesn’t make you an official Buckeye. What does? Losing your black stripe. Here’s every player to make that leap so far this year.
