Former Northwestern WR Austin Carr picked up by New Orleans Saints

Austin Carr is heading to the Big Easy.

The former Northwestern wide receiver was cut by the Patriots and picked up by the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Carr was the 2016 Big Ten Wide Receiver of the Year as he caught 90 passes for 1,247 and 12 touchdowns during his senior season.

Carr went undrafted in 2017 and spent training camp in New England. He made 14 grabs for 153 yards and two touchdowns during the preseason, but the Patriots still cut ties with him Sunday. Carr will give the Saints some depth at wide receiver after starter Willie Snead was suspended for 3 games.
