Wide receiver Brandon Reilly and linebacker Nate Gerry failed to make NFL rosters to start the season. But on Sunday, both former Cornhuskers joined practice squads.

Reilly and Gerry signed on with the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles, respectively.

Shortly after going undrafted in the 2017 NFL Draft, Reilly joined the Buffalo Bills as a unrestricted free agent and played four preseason games. He caught 11 passes for 139 yards and a touchdown, which he dedicated to former teammate Sam Foltz. His production didn’t result in making the Bills’ initial 53-man roster but earned him a practice team spot.

Gerry, meanwhile, didn’t make the Eagles’ roster despite being their fifth-round pick in the latest NFL Draft. They cut him Saturday before adding him to the 10-man practice squad a day later.
