Former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott named one of Dallas Cowboys’ captains for 2017

Dak Prescott had an impressive rookie campaign with the Dallas Cowboys in 2016. Now, the former Mississippi State quarterback will try to follow it up during his upcoming sophomore season. And he’ll be doing so as a captain.

On Wednesday, Prescott was named as one of the Cowboys’ six team captains for this year, which was announced by head coach Jason Garrett when he met with the media.

Prescott may be just 24 years old, but he’s already become a leader in Dallas. He helped the Cowboys go 13-3 and win the NFC East last season by throwing for 3,667 yards and 23 touchdowns. He also rushed for 282 yards and six scores.

Prescott takes the field for the first time in 2017 this Sunday, when the Cowboys host the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football at 8:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
