Florida State will get a surprising addition to its lineup this Saturday as they try to upset host Clemson and keep their bowl eligibility hopes alive.
Seminoles coach Jimbo Fisher announced that running back Jacques Patrick (knee) is ready to return to the field.
Patrick initially received an MRI after the Louisville game in October and was informed after the Boston College game that he would be miss the rest of the season.
However, surgery was successful and Patrick has rapidly progressed to the point that Florida State (3-5, 3-4) will have another option in the backfield vs. the 8-1 Tigers.
“He’s had good practices and looks well, and he should be able to go,” Jimbo Fisher said, courtesy of the Tallahassee Democrat .
Despite missing games vs. Boston College and Syracuse, Patrick remains Florida State’s second-leading rusher at 421 yards and a touchdown.
Patrick also has 13 catches for 88 yards.
Florida State-Clemson is slated for 3:30 p.m. (EST) and will be televised on ESPN.
