Florida State was originally supposed to face Louisiana-Monroe on Sept. 9, but the game was cancelled due to Hurricane Irma.
As expected, the game has been rescheduled. It will be played on Dec. 2.

This development could affect Florida State’s bowl status. Louisiana-Monroe, which plays in the Sun Belt and has a 4-5 record, is an opponent the Seminoles should beat. Jimbo Fisher’s squad sits at 3-5 with games against Clemson, Delaware State and Florida remaining.
At this point, it’s tough to envision Florida State defeating Clemson. But the rest of the games are there for the taking. If the Seminoles win two of those three, the Louisiana-Monroe matchup could be the difference between being bowl-eligible or not.
