Despite a report that stated Texas A&M was closing in on making Jimbo Fisher its next head football coach, Fisher remains the head man at Florida State. And he is refusing to talk about any job openings.
“I never comment on jobs,” Fisher said on the Jeff Cameron Show on Monday morning.
“My focus right now is winning against ULM (Louisiana Monroe) and playing our season. I don’t get into the rumors and the rumor mill. If there was ever something to it then at the appropriate time, but right now there’s no reason to comment, and I’m focused on beating ULM.”
Fisher re-iterated that point during his Monday afternoon press conference.

But that hasn’t stopped the Texas media from reporting he will be on the move to Texas A&M this offseason. Brent Zwerneman of The Houston Chronicle reports there is a handshake agreement in place between Fisher and the Aggies.
Of course, the same could be said for Fisher and LSU a couple years ago, and he obviously didn’t leave Florida State.
This is yet another distraction the Seminoles will have to deal with ahead of their next game. Florida State rescheduled its matchup with Louisiana Monroe this Saturday, and the Seminoles need a victory to extend their bowl streak to 36 years.
