Florida introduces Dan Mullen

It’s officially official. Florida introduced Dan Mullen on Monday as the next coach of the Gators football team. In the nearly hour-long press conference, Mullen said all the right things and provided enough enthusiasm and confidence to impress the media and fan base alike.

The Florida men’s basketball team improved one spot to No. 6 in the latest AP Top 25 Poll after going 2-1 at the Phil Knight Invitational. The Gators defeated Stanford and then-No. 17 Gonzaga on back-to-back days before losing to No. 1 Duke on Sunday. Also, junior guard Jalen Hudson was named the SEC Player of the Week after averaging 25.3 points per game during those three games in Portland, Ore.

Women’s basketball returns home

After playing three games last week in Savannah, Ga., the Gators women’s basketball team (3-3) returns home to host Jacksonville (4-2) on Tuesday. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
