On Thursday, Florida announced that it would be cancelling its game against Northern Colorado, but that didn’t prevent the Gators from looking for other alternatives.
Per Florida AD Scott Stricklin, the school contacted Auburn athletic director Jay Jacobs about possibly playing the game at Jordan-Hare Stadium. But Stricklin ultimately said that traveling to and from the game would be too difficult.
Scott Stricklin said he called Auburn AD Jay Jacobs to see if #Gators could play there, but trying to get team there and back was too tough.

Florida had already moved up its game time to noon after it had been orginally scheduled for 7 p.m. The Gators home opener will now be against Tennessee on Sept. 16. Stricklin did work at Auburn from 1993-98.
In Florida’s only other game this season, the Gators lost 33-17 to Michigan.
