We’re now officially a week away from one of the most highly anticipated season openers in college football history.
Many are weighing on with their picks and this selection by ESPN College Gameday’s Lee Corso isn’t going to go over well with Alabama fans.
Citing its strong defense, the Florida State alum is picking the Seminoles to defeat the Crimson Tide on Sept. 2 in the Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic from the new Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, GA.
Alabama is ranked No. 1 in the preseason Associated Press Top 25, while Florida State is No. 3. There’s never been a No. 1 vs. No. 3 matchup before in Week 1, lending even more credence to the fact that this could be the biggest college football opener of all-time.
Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher would make some history with a victory. Nick Saban has a perfect 10-0 record vs. his former assistant coaches.
The matchup will be televised on ABC and can be streamed via Watch ESPN.
