Auburn is ranked No. 10 in the latest College Football Playoff rankings and could make some noise heading into the final part of the season, with upcoming games against No. 1 Georgia and No. 2 Alabama in Jordan-Hare Stadium.
They also have two losses – to No. 4 Clemson and No. 24 LSU –, but one ESPN analyst thinks that the Tigers are in more control of what happens to them than an undefeated team in the Big Ten.
Auburn controls its own destiny more than Wisconsin,” Booger McFarland said on Tuesday night.
While Wisconsin’s schedule has been extremely weak, the Badgers still have a chance to defeat either Ohio State or Michigan State, both in the top 20 of the rankings, in the Big Ten Championship Game.
For McFarland, it is as simple as comparing the two teams.
“Auburn is better than Wisconsin.”
A win over the top-ranked Bulldogs this Saturday in Auburn would set up another epic Iron Bowl matchup such as in 2013, when the Kick Six sent the Tigers to the SEC Championship and BCS National Championship Game while ruining the Crimson Tide’s national title chances.
If the Tigers were to get past both of them, they would face Georgia once again in the SEC Championship Game, as the Bulldogs have already wrapped up the SEC East division title.
No matter what happens, it will certainly make for an interesting November.
