ESPN analyst breaks down why Jimbo Fisher would leave Florida State for Texas A&M

Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher has been connected to the opening at Texas A&M since the Aggies fired Kevin Sumlin on Sunday.

Some may be confused why Fisher, a very successful coach at a blue blood like Florida State, would jump ship for Texas A&M and College Station. ESPN college football analyst broke down those reasons and more today on the World Wide Leader:

“When you go to a new job, here’s what’s going to happen for Jimbo Fisher,” Pollack said. “He’s going to get a five-year contract for a lot more money … You know what else starts over? His clock as a coach starts over.

“He has a bad year, he’s not getting called to be fired like he would next year if he had a bad year at Florida State.”

Fisher and the Seminoles have had a disastrous season after being picked by many to represent the ACC in the College Football Playoff. FSU will need a win over Louisiana Monroe to keep its bowl streak alive.

Unrest at Florida State could be just the thing Texas A&M needs to secure Fisher’s signature.
