Danny Kanell returning to radio on Sirius XM, reportedly joining Fox Sports as well

Danny Kanell, a casualty of the significant ESPN layoffs of last spring, has landed a new gig just in time for the kickoff of the college football season.

Kanell, who loved to hate the SEC on his previous show, Russillo and Kanell on ESPN Radio, will begin a daily afternoon radio show on Sirius XM. Playbook will air weekdays from 1-4 p.m. Kanell broke the news with a genuine post on Instagram.

Also, Ken Fang of Awful Announcing reports that Kanell will make a return to television as well, this time with Fox Sports, as early as this weekend. He’ll be a part-time analyst for games on Fox Sports 1 and Fox Sports 2. His debut will come this Saturday on FS2 at 7 p.m. for the Liberty at Baylor matchup.

Let’s see if he works in an SEC zinger before the end of the first quarter.
