Danny Kanell crushes frustrated Texas A&M regent who called for Kevin Sumlin’s job: ‘This is embarrassing’

Danny Kanell isn’t pleased with a member of the Texas A&M Board of Regents.

There was drama after the Aggies’ stunning collapse against UCLA on Sunday, when Texas A&M blew a 44-10 third-quarter lead, only to lose 45-44. Tony Buzbee, a member of the Texas A&M Board of Regents, posted a note to Facebook that said, in part, that Aggies coach Kevin Sumlin “should go now” after the loss.

Well, Kanell wasn’t having it.

On Monday, the college football analyst used Twitter to say Buzbee’s actions were “embarrassing” and that he hopes Sumlin “wins out.” Check out the message below.

Kanell wasn’t the only high-profile voice to come to Sumlin’s defense. Earlier Monday, ESPN’s Kirk Herbstreit also voiced his disproval with Buzbee’s criticism.

You can understand why Texas A&M supporters would be hot after such an epic collapse. But it would be bad form to fire Sumlin after one game, even with his hot-seat situation being well-defined since the offseason.

Sumlin shouldn’t feel comfortable, though.
