AP college football writer: ‘We’re heading toward the end of Bret Bielema in Arkansas’

The Bret Bielema era in Fayetteville is not going as well as everyone thought when he jumped ship from Wisconsin to the Razorbacks in 2013. A 29-31 overall record, including 11-26 in the SEC has many thinking that this is the time for change.

Associated Press college football writer Ralph Russo agrees. Appearing on Sports Talk with Bo Mattingly, Russo all but said that Bielema will be fired at the end of the season.

“I think we’re heading toward the end of Bret Bielema at Arkansas.”

Bielema still has a chance to earn a sixth season in charge of the Razorbacks starting with the LSU game this weekend, but Russo does not see Arkansas being able to hang with their rival.

“I’m not seeing a lot of reasons why Arkansas would be able to keep the LSU game close.”
