One subpar first half didn’t deter Wisconsin from reeling off 59 consecutive points in a 59-10 blowout victory against Utah State in its season opener. It also didn’t prevent voters from keeping the Badgers in their top 10 in the AP Top 25
Wisconsin is ranked No. 9 in the latest AP Top 25 and 11th in the Amway Coaches Top 25 poll, both out on Tuesday. The Badgers opened the season at No. 10 in the Coaches poll, which marked their first preseason top-10 appearance there since 2011. The Badgers were ranked ninth in the preseason Associated Press Top 25, their first top-10 showing to open the season in the AP poll since 2007.
The Big Ten remains well represented near the top of the polls. Ohio State remained No. 2, while Penn State was 4 and Michigan 8. Michigan defeated Florida in its opener to rise in the rankings.
Wisconsin (1-0) plays host to Florida Atlantic (0-1) at 11 a.m. CT Saturday.
