TCU came in at No. 6 in the latest edition of the College Football Playoff rankings Tuesday night.
The Horned Frogs (8-1) were the second-highest ranked team in the Big 12 behind Oklahoma (8-1). They go on the road to play the Sooners this Saturday.

TCU got some help over the weekend from the Big Ten with Ohio State falling to Iowa 55-24 and Penn State losing to Michigan State 27-24. Those teams’ stumbles gave the Frogs the chance to move up in the rankings. The Frogs took care of their own business, dispatching Texas 24-7 on Saturday night.
The Frogs have the No. 7 Strength of Record in the country, according to ESPN. They boast a quality win at Oklahoma State in Week 4. They also have three wins over teams that are currently bowl-eligible (vs. SMU, at Oklahoma State, vs. West Virginia), which is tied for the most in the country.
The playoff committee will certainly be watching TCU’s game against Oklahoma very closely. The winner of that matchup will get another quality win and become the Big 12’s No. 1 playoff contender, and that team will likely have a chance at yet another resume-boosting victory in the Big 12 Championship Game on Dec. 2.
TCU-Oklahoma is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m. CT on Saturday on FOX.
